Temari Sushi

Little balls of goodness and my latest obsession. Temari (手ま) translates to “hand ball”… think the Japanese version of hacky sack. Temari sushi is easy and fun to make and the options are endless!

HOW TO MAKE TEMARI SUSHI

  • Ball up some sushi rice. Tip: Wet your palms to prevent the rice from sticking to your hands.
  • Thinly slice what you would like to wrap your sushi ball with. In this bite, I layered the maguro (tuna), shiso, avocado and salmon.
  • Transfer your layers to a sheet of plastic wrap.
  • Place your rice ball on top of the layers. Pull the plastic wrap up, twist and gently squeeze.
